Hot Gas Welding for Thermoplastics

Novaplas Precision specializes in hot gas welding, also known as wire welding, a highly effective technique used to bond similar thermoplastics together. This process involves the use of high-temperature air to melt and fuse materials seamlessly.

During wire welding, we utilize a specially designed handheld hot air dryer. Both the plastic material and welding wire are evenly heated with hot air, allowing them to bond together. Once the product cools, a solid and durable bond is formed, ensuring the long-lasting integrity of the joint.

Materials for Wet Process Equipment

Our wet process equipment is compatible with a wide range of materials, carefully selected for their suitability in demanding wet processing applications:

FM-approved Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC-C): Known for its exceptional chemical resistance and durability, PVC-C is ideal for a variety of wet processing applications.

Polyethylene (PE): Available in high-density (HDPE), low-density (LDPE), and ultra-high molecular weight (UHMWPE), PE plastics are versatile and ideal for applications requiring chemical and impact resistance, as well as FDA approval.

Polypropylene (PP): A low-density, low-friction crystalline thermoplastic, PP is highly durable and resistant to high temperatures. It combines toughness with flexibility, making it suitable for diverse applications.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE、PEEK): Also known by the brand name Teflon®, PTFE is a nonreactive fluoropolymer with excellent chemical and water resistance. Its high thermal stability and versatility make it a top choice for wet processing applications.

Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF): PVDF offers high chemical resistance and thermal stability. It’s perfect for high-purity applications and is lighter in density compared to many other fluoropolymers.

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC): This synthetic thermoplastic is both lightweight and durable, offering excellent resistance to chemicals and corrosion. PVC is a versatile material, providing excellent performance at an economical cost.

At Novaplas Precision, we ensure the highest standards in material selection and welding techniques, tailored to meet the unique requirements of your applications.

Hot Gas Welding Expertise

Hot gas welding requires specialized expertise, as each type of plastic has its own unique melting point. Heating the material beyond its ideal temperature can cause irreversible damage. Therefore, this welding method must be executed with the utmost precision to ensure a strong, lasting bond without compromising the integrity of the material.

At Novaplas Precision, we specialize in welding a variety of thermoplastics, including:

•PP (Polypropylene)
•HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
•PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
•PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride)
•PC (Polycarbonate)
•PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone)
